Vertical header placed beside content

Hi, I’m currently using a vertical header on the left side. Now it rests on top of the content, so part of the left side of the content is hidden by the header. I would like to have it rest beside the content, so that would mean the section would be shifted towards the right, the same number of pixels as the vertical header width, in this case 80 pixels. How can this be done?
