Vertical meno appearing above Header Image

Had a ‘blip’ this morning after belatedly trying to create child theme for this site. Got back to normal I thought via child theme deletion on server via FTP. However, though all is back I now have an additional menu based on an earlier version which does not fully match the accurate and proper navigation menu in right sidebar anyway!

I need to remove any copy above header image. Can anyone advise?
