vertical rectangles instead of icons since update

I’m having the same exact issue. Should I revert back as well? Or, is there a solution pending?

I’m having the same issue as well on two sites running Genesis. One with Outreach Pro and one with Curb Appeal. Reverted both sites back to SSI 1.0.13

I saw the same issue, but its gone after clearing the cache. Maybe you’re using caching plugins?

Can someone provide a link as to where I can download SSI 1.0.13? Issue persists after clearing my cache. THANKS!

@kdunham My guess is that you (or your developer) are using a function/filter to add icons, which has been removed in the 2.0 update.

Hi – I have cleared my cache as well, but I still have problems updating Simple Social Icons on https://twilliamsrealty.com/

I also had this problem on another site but clearing the cache worked.

I’ve removed the function. So am I to assume that we can no longer customize this plugin? I had reordered the icon’s order and added a “Yelp” share button. I also changed the color of each individual button but that may be still possible via CSS. Not sure. But the other changes/customization…are they no longer possible?

@kdunham You can still reorder and add icons, as mentioned in the 2.0 update post that Brian linked to.

For those still experiencing issues with icons appearing as squares, the most common reasons are customisations applied under 1.0.13 that have not been rewritten in the 2.0 style, or caching. If you’ve ruled those things out please feel free to start your own post – am happy to take a look on a site-by-site basis.

@sg01 It will depend on how your theme was customised. Asking your theme developer is likely the best option if you haven’t customised the theme yourself.
