    Steve, I’m not willing to provide that information unless we do a joint call where you do a remote sign in so I can monitor what is being done and what are possible causes your plugin is creating the problem.

    What do you have set as your Site Title in WordPress under Settings, General?

    I just went to your site and it looks like AIOSEOP has been deactivated for now, but the title is still showing that way. This indicates that another plugin (or theme) is creating those titles. Based on the screenshot, it looks like you’re using another SEO plugin, as “SEO” is in the admin bar twice.
    What other plugins are you using?

    Steve, the site title in setting under General is blank, as is the tag line, because having something typed in there was causing an earlier now resolved conflict.

    Michael, as mentioned above, I had three SEO related plugin’s installed until a couple of days ago until I began trouble shooting the issue. Per Steve’s suggestion, I deactivated two of three plugin’s leaving “All in One SEO” up and running, but the bar in title issue was still present when I made FB posts and in the dashboard while building a the test posts. Tuesday evening I deactivated your plugin and reactivated Ultimate SEO plugin and the problem went away. I prefer your plugin because of its capabilities but the vertical bar it creates is frustrating.

    All in One SEO is deactivated but I still see the pipe in your document title.

    Maybe due it not being deleted from our plugins? Its only deactivate. The vertical bar is no longer showing up in Facebook posts

    The reason you see the vertical bar and nothing after it is because you have no Site Title set.

    Facebook caches, so you can’t go by that. Look at the source code of your website. The pipe is still there, and AIOSEOP is inactive. Deleting doesn’t do anything, when you deactivate AIOSEOP, all of its functionality stops immediately.

    I can tell you with absolute certainty that AIOSEOP isn’t causing this.
    Try deactivating your plugins one by one, checking to see if the pipe is still there each time.

    Steve, I will trying adding the same title I have installed in ALL in One SEO in the general settings do a test post in FB to see if that solves the problem.

    Michael, why would deactivating AIOSEOP cause the vertical bar to suddenly go away when it hasn’t in over a year of Facebook “caches”? It didnt go away when I deactivated the other two SEO plugin’s.

    Steve, adding the title to the page that was installed in the general settings tab, did in fact clear up the vertical bar issue at the end of the title when making an Facebook Post.

    But now it creates a new issue. Now the website title is showing up in the post titles. So whatever I add to the Post title causes me to exceed the 65 words limit in the post title. I have the option of leaving a long website title in place, and not adding a title for the blog as to not exceed the 65 characters limit, or reducing the website title down to just Texas Tiny Homes. Right now the title i was using in AIOSEOP is 58 characters;

    The pipe did not go away when you deactivated AIOSEOP. I saw it still there with AIOSEOP deactivated. I’ve posted the screenshot above.
    Facebook temporarily caches your submitted posts. Looking at their cache of your post isn’t a good way to determine whether changes have been made to your site (as opposed to the source code). I don’t know what else to say about this.

    It’s pretty clear that another plugin (or the theme) is competing with AIOSEOP for control over the doc titles.
    We’ve asked for wp-admin to resolve it for you for free, and have asked what other plugins you’re running to try and determine it on our own. Since you won’t give us what we need, I’m marking this thread as resolved.

    Your plugin IS the problem that is creating this vertical bar “|” at the end of the titles, (and I am not this “/” as you eluded to in your screenshot above) when the websites title is left empty under general settings. The vertical bar issue does not show up in blogs posts when your plug-in is deactivated, even if the page title is left empty under general settings and another SEO plugin is active. It ONLY happens when your plugin is installed.

    Get that bug worked out and I will use it again, if not, I consider it UNRESOLVED

    I had the same problem as @bdsdallas. The problem seems to stem from line 2533 of aioseop_class.php.

    $sep = '|';

    that line causes the plugin to print that unwanted | character. If you have any reluctance in removing the line completely, you can just remove the vertical bar within the quote marks. It will deliver the same result.

    Please don’t forget to make a back-up of the file before you alter its contents.
