Very Basic Plugin

I want to make a very basic plugin that would basically make an alias for some code so I could do something like

[tobeon=yes]

in a post and then the plugin would insert in some other code like

This is the code <b>yes</b> this is the end

in place of [tobeon=yes]

how would I go about doing that?
