Amazing for being free

<p>5-29-23 Update: I’m editing this review AGAIN because the new/current version of this plugin is nothing like the one I left a review for originally.? I had no idea it was the same plugin until I went to leave this review! There are so many features available now that weren’t there before, so they are certainly continuing to improve. The paid version seems quite worth it as well and I will likely end up purchasing it for one of my clients.? [End 2023 Update]<br><br>Old review from 2018:<br>I have edited this review because the guys reached out to me after my initial review and really wanted to help and make sure I was happy. They also said they are going to be releasing more features in the upcoming free version.</p>

<p>Honestly, this is the best plugin available for embedding Google Reviews, however it didn’t work for my situation. I wanted to use it in my footer, but the free version displays 5 reviews and can’t change it to 2 or 3, and can’t change the character max, so it was just way too long for my footer area.</p>

<p>Personally, I couldn’t get it to pull up my business, so I spent 2 hours of trying to find my Place ID (no idea why it was so hard for me, but I finally found it here: https://developers.google.com/my-business/content/faq#how-to-find-placeid). Had to get a new API key and try that again, then I was finally good to go.</p>

<p>The features on the free version are more limited than I expected. Like literally all you can do is change it to “dark background”. Can’t control the # of reviews shown, can’t change the length of review before “read more”.</p>

<p>I was trying to use the plugin in my footer rather than sidebar widgets, so it just took up too much space with having 5 reviews displayed. They said they’ll have more features available in the Free version sometime soon, so I’ll check back at a later date.</p>
