Background Color Issue

Hi,

I am developing a child theme (based wp 2014 theme), but am having a little trouble with the title of my sticky posts on my homepage at mobile sizes. The Gray diagonal lines appear behind the title which doesnt look too good. I’d like it to snap to a black background behind the Title at mobile sizes or overlay the type on the image (as it does at larger widths in a browser).

I was thinking some sort of @media fix could work to call in a black background at a specific width, but haven’t been able to figure anything out thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
