Very good plugin

  • I was looking for a plugin that would help me solve “Subscribers”. First I tried mailchimp which seemed good to complete the task, they have a free version of 2000 subscribers which has all the functionality I needed. However, they impose a footer rewards watermark in all emails sent from the “free” version. This made me turn away from them looking for another. I then tried “Email subscribers & newsletters” plugin by icegram. They had simple functionality but lacking core stuff like HTML editing of email templates and captcha for spam bots, those were premium features.

    Then I found this beauty of an addon called “mailpoet”. It has everything I need the full package in a free version, no hardcoded footers, very easy to understand and build your email setup.

    The only reason I don’t give this 5 stars is that the price for premium isn’t competitive at all.

    The price scales way to much for the amount of users:

    If you’d to compare Mailchimp to Mailpoet prices it’s better to go for mailchimp.

    Mailpoet:
    – Free: up to 1000 subscribers
    – 1000 to 1250 subscribers: 12.50 Euro a month
    – 50000 subscribers: 208.33 Euro a month

    Mailchimp:
    – Free: up to 2000 subscribers
    – 50000 subscribers: 10$ a month.

    As you can see their prices isn’t competitive. However, the service is great and functionality is much easier to consume and use. If only they could work on their price a little.
