Very good when it works first time

When it works, which is most of the time, SG Migrator is very good – simple to use, as everything is automated, and quick. The transfer normally takes only a few minutes.

However, if something goes wrong the error messages (if you get any) are generic and vague, making it difficult to troubleshoot the problem. At the very least, the plugin should tell you where the log file is (wp-content/siteground-migrator.log) and give some help for the commonest problems such as out-of-memory errors. On a large site I found that the plugin hung, appearing to be transferring but not completing even after a couple of hours; it would not be difficult for the plugin to check for very slow progress.
