It’s a common problem to have to replace media files when you’re finishing a project. This plugin comes in handy for that, since you don’t mess with already attached references, url and so on.

The only thing I miss is a thumbnail on the Replace Media Upload page itself (when you replace several images, it would help to have some kind of reference on that page as to what image you’re indeed replacing). And probably a notice regarding cache and thumbnails that refuse to change.
