Very high memory usage

    I’ve recently installed the plugin and it’s been working well except that the memory usage is very high when doing a complete backup. A complete site backup (zipped) amounts to 3.6G and in the process uses 1.5G of memory which is causing an issue on my shared hosting account which has a limit of 512mb. Is this normal, and if so, is there a way to reduce the memory usage?

    Yes this is normal, compression is one of the most CPU / memory intensive tasks a computer can run.
    Try running a zip on your local computer on such a large set of files, you’ll notice it too.

    You could try and exclude some non critical files, or splitting into separate schedules.
