Of the several woo search plugins, i ended up selecting this one.
It has a slick Ajax search interface that nicely shows accurate results in a clean modal dropdown.

I’m not sure, but for some reason I seems that WordPress is limiting developers to either create a search for site or shop, but the the two shall not comingle. i.e. I would be a nice option to allow one or both as part of search.
