Very impressed so far

  • Haven’t cut this in yet but working on the sandbox version of our site. The automatic translation is good, maybe not great but understandable and usable (I am having language experts spot fix problem spots). Technically things work as expected and it’s very easy to use.

    There are just a few features that don’t exist that would be very helpful, such as a way that some sections on a page stay in the native language. Also you can have entire pages not be translated, but when you do that the entire site shifts back to the native language and that is not what I would want.

    However, it seems to be a great product. I’ll know more when I cut it into production.

    Hello,

    Thank you for the appreciation related to automatic translation. The quality of the translation depends on the way the automatic engine understands how to translate the respective string.

    With reference to the features you’re talking about, I did not find a ticket from you in which you contacted us. if that’s the reason why you didn’t give us the maximum number of?stars, know that you can exclude the HTML selector of a particular section using the?Exclude selectors from translation option in TP Settings –> Advanced tab –> Exclude strings section.?In this way, the strings under that selector should not be processed/translated anymore.
    And yes, the Do not translate certain paths feature excludes the page from being fully translated, meaning that it will only be available in the original library.

    Yes I did have a support request with Anca Cocora, don’t know why you can’t find it. And I read your documentation as well. I did read about “Exclude selectors from translation” but I don’t know how to implement that, the documentation would be more useful if it were more comprehensive. You can take this off-line and respond in the support thread that we have established if you would like, that would be helpful to me.

    But meantime, my review is very positive and my view of your product is very positive, just not five star.
