Very interesting!

  • I can see some interesting uses for this plugin. The writing form looks well designed, and it works! The dashboard and ajax pages look good too (though I’m not clear what the difference between them is).

    The one problem I’m having is editing published posts. The Edit buttons just take me to the post, and don’t provide me with any way of editing them, while the [write-edit] shortcode doesn’t appear to work.

    As for improvements, I am not bothered about whether everything happens on one page, and there might be good reasons for having separate post and edit or dashboard pages. But what I would like to see is support for custom post types and taxonomies.

    If you could also make this work with DrawIt, that would really be awesome!!

    For the edit button, it won’t work till you assign edit page on the setting page.

    1. Create page and add [write-here-edit] shortcode in the page.
    2. Go to Write Here’s setting page and assign your edit page

    Now it’s updated! Thank you again for the comment. Otherwise it will take me a while to realize I had a typo there lol.

    [write-here-ajax] allows you to do write and manage posts on one page instead of having [write-here] on a page and [write-here-dashboard] on the other page.

    I have plan to make [write-here-ajax] more interactive as I learn more stuffs about AJAX and WordPress ??

    Thank you. I have now inserted the [write-here-edit] shortcode but, on the front-end, that just produces the message “Please click edit link on dashbord page.” (By the way, that should be dashboard.)

    Unfortunately, I get the same result as before when clicking the edit button. I am taken to the published post, but with no apparent means of editing it.

    Edit page which has [write-here-edit] is normal to show “Please click edit link on dashboard page.”

    Now you have to assign that edit page on Write Here’s setting page. It’s under Settings on WP backend.

    Then go to your dashboard page and click on edit link.

    Hope this works.

    Oh, I see, I have to get to that page from the Dashboard and not directly!

    Yes, now that I have set the page in the settings page, it does work. So it’s now all working as intended. Thanks!
