• I have a wordpress-powered site hosted by DreamHost, and I’ve been trying to optimize my page loading time. It occasionally gets very bad loading times on website speed tests, and when that happens, most of the wait time comes from the redirect from the domain with www to the domain without. (In my case, redirecting from https://www.kiwifoodie.co.nz to kiwifoodie.co.nz which took 13s)

How can I work around this issue? I think the redirect would be necessary, as otherwise people forgetting the www would not be able to access my page at all. But I also want to cut down on the loading time reliably.

Here is an example of a load test: https://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/cmbT5V/https://www.kiwifoodie.co.nz

  • Hi,

It seems that you have solved the problem.
Could you tell me how? I have the same problem on my website
markeyting.com : It takes about 10 seconds to load in order to get to the redirected website.

    Thanks
