Very Long URL’s from Long Nested Page Names

I’m just getting started, and I’m looking at permalink formats. I’m going to post a couple of dozen pages on my site, as starting points for comments. Using the page title Permalink format, with the page title and a sub-page title, the URL get quite long. Is this an issue? Does it make it a barrier for people to post and transmit the links?

Any guidance on this would be appreciated.
