    Thanks for noticing the name. It slipped past me for quite a while ??

    I think there are so many different sharing plugins out there that it might be better to let the user decide which one they prefer. The plugin is designed to filter the WP built-in shortlink so any plugin should be able to access it as such.

    Have you tried any sharing plugins to see if they grab the Shortn.It URL as intended?

    Actually yes I have, I use jetpack sharing, only long links get shared.
    Why I suggested jetpack specifically because there is a plugin that does exactly that: jetpack sharing buttons will share wp.me shortlinks. You can do the same for yours.

    Another thing I found when I referred to your plugin at stack overflow, that some users want an option to be able to change the permalink. This might be a helpful feature in your plugin too. (check 9gag for an example).
