Very Nice Way to Post Content to Social Media

Overview:
This is a really nice plugin for posting to social media. You can post manually entered text and photos (in tweets, toots, etc.), or set up the plugin to post whenever you publish a new page or blog post (a feature which I haven’t really used much yet; it seems to still be a work in progress at the moment).

Pros: I love that you can schedule posts way in advance, and that you can do this from your website. I think it makes using social media to promote your website content so much easier, as often times I want to post about new blog posts, and even when I don’t I may peruse my past blog posts for topics I can address on social media.

Cons:
The plugin is still new, so there are a few hiccups at the moment. I ran into an issue where the plugin won’t let me back out of a post when I start to schedule it and then change my mind, or want to change the date, for example. I use other plugins from this author, and I’m sure any issues like this are only temporary. So I don’t think it’s worth it to deduct a star because of this.

Cons that are Not MeowApp’s Fault:
Another issue (not MeowApp’s fault in any way) is that it takes some time to set up the plugin to work with the various social media sites you want to use. The author provides documentation on this, so I suggest anyone wanting to use the plugin take a look at that while setting it up. Finally (again, not the author’s fault), Twitter, because of what it’s been doing lately, doesn’t seem to be possible to set up for free. To fix this, I would just suggest using Twitter directly, or perhaps a free scheduling service like Buffer. Buffer is a large company that offers SaaS, so they have the money and the means to work around Twitter’s tom-foolery, while MeowApps can’t.

Summary:
I recommend this app whole-heartedly! It’s great for scheduling social media posts, and it just makes sense having this functionality inside your admin space. The paid version is so cheap ($29 a year for one website) that you might as well get that, if for no other reason than to support the developer and help him keep making this and other plugins great!
