• Really well executed and opens up the power of Gutenberg! As a website developer, I’ve had mixed feelings about Gutenberg – whether it makes things easier or harder for my clients. But Lazy Blocks has tipped me over and I now see the power of it. Say good-buy to clunky shortcodes, just build a custom block instead! It’s so easy to use, the interface is similar to ACF. I’d say it’s the most powerful WordPress plugin since ACF! If ACF had their custom block builder out of beta I probably would have tried it first but instead I gave Lazy Blocks a go.

I do share another reviewer’s concern about depending on the plugin and whether it will be around in a few years time. But I guess if it gets popular it increases the likelihood of it sticking around. WordPress should talk to the plugin author about rolling this in to the core – it would really unleash the power of Gutenberg!

One minor gripe/suggestion: it would be very useful if you could use any HTML code in the Rich Text field in HTML mode. E.g. I made a FAQ block and I needed to put a table in one of the FAQs. The Rich Text field would strip out the table tags so I ended up having to use a plain textarea instead. This might be a Gutenberg issue and not a Lazy Blocks issue.

    Thank you!

Yes, RichText is pretty limited. Gutenberg uses a separate block to output tables. You can also use it with InnerBlocks control, but it is not support Repeaters (if you use it with your FAQ block).
