very slow and invisible in wordpress MU

Hello,
I test both ” BP Group Hierarchy” and “BP Group Hierarchy Propagate” in my wordpress MU, and it did create sub group, but there are two issue:
1.Cause the site very slow.
2.it did create sub group, but only be visible in group directory, and not visible in group tree tab page of Group profile.By the way, my buddypress is install on subsite, but activated in network wide, so how should I activate BP Group Hierarchy? in site wide or network wide?
