• It has taken hours but it never finished the scan. It got forward a little bit after restarting the scanning.
    There are also many issues on my site but WordFence didn’t report and fix them. I come from Java world and know the issues but I don’t know how to fix them.

    sorry to hear you are having issues with the plugin. Depending on which options you have enabled for the scan it can take different amounts of time. You could try disabling “Scan images, binary, and other files as if they were executable” and “Scan files outside your WordPress installation” and see if the scan runs faster and is able to complete then.

    Issues are reported when the scan is completed. If the scan never completes that may explain why you didn’t get a report. What kind of issues are you referring to when you say there are issues on your site? Thanks!

    I already disabled the two items you mentioned above, but the scanning is still stopped after 30~40 seconds. The scan animation is still moving in the “Scan Summary” box, but nothing is updated in the “Scan Detailed Activity” box.
    If it stopped at “Analyzed 1000 files containing 12.2 MB of data so far” and I killed the scan and started the scan, it would stop at approximately 1200 files again.
    The site was hacked before and I believe that there are still some malicious files.

    Okay thanks for elaborating. In this situation I would suggest you

    1. Keep a browser console open while attempting the scan to see if any errors are reported there (such as 404 or 500 errors or JavaScript errors) and
    2. Check the error logs on your server for any log entries that may explain the situation. Wordfence Diagnostics page has a section that provides information about any logs it was able to detect and if it has permission it will also let you download the logs from there directly.
