Month View, single Events, and Events Admin all are loading VERY Slowly. May be because, after a period of four years, we now have a total of 4,949 quite large Events posts in the data base (of which 4,740 are published Events). We did check “Enable the Month View Cache” but this does not help. (The rest of the website works normally – MUCH quicker than the Events Calendar.)

Question: Before we go through the very time-consuming labor of deleting old Event posts, would it help speed up load time if we simply change old published Event posts to “Draft” status (which is quicker than deleting them)? Do only Published Event posts affect the load time? Or, does your software have to sort through ALL Events, including Drafts, in order to load?

    Many thanks in advance!

Would it help to start a separate Calendar on another page for events starting in January, 2018? I assume that would be possible. Yes? If I assign different Categories for the new Calendar, would the new Calendar load faster than the old one? Or, would it still go searching through all the 4 years of old Events in the first Calendar for each page refresh?
