When I test front page we get a 6.51s delay when WP Google Maps is enabled. We do not even have a map on the front page. WHen we disable plugin, delay goes away. It appears to be connected with the generation and loading of a JSON file …/wp-json/wp/v2/.

Is there a setting or a code bit we can use to solve this?

    Hi there,

Thank you for getting in touch, we do appreciate your time.

There may be some delays when using the map on the front end as certain libraries do need to load in order to render maps on the front end.

However, you mentioned that you are not loading the map on the front end and are seeing this result.

Would it be possible for you to share a link to your site with me so that I can run a few tests and determine what is occurring?

Sure. Can I do it without posting publicly? Email?

BTW – we found it using GTmetrix.
