Since updating to 3.0.4 last night night, the response of the editor has become extremely slow. Sometimes 7 seconds will pass between typing and the character appearing on the screen.

De-activating Yoast SEO rectifies the issue, but I do not want to be without it.

    Any suggestions?

I have exactly the same issue, as does another wordpress user who was communicating with me about it on the www.ads-software.com forums until we discoved that the Yoast SEO plugin is definitely causing the lag.

Hopefully this can be resolved promptly.

Ethan, I found a temporary fix. there is a plugin called WP Rollback that gives you the ability to roll back plugin versions. I rolled back Yoast SEO to 3.0.3 and that fixed it for now. At least this way we can continue working until the issue is resolved correctly

That’s great, thanks! Hopefully there will be an official response though. I can’t imagine we’re the only ones scratching our heads over this!

    Hi

I’ve also had the same problem with 3.0.4 with the editor having a delay between 1 to 5 seconds (depending on how much and how fast I was typing).

    – Installed 3.0.4 today so switched it off and editor returned to normal
    – Re-installed and rolled back to 3.0.3 and editor delay problem occurred
    – Rolled back to 3.0.2 and everything back to normal

I’m now running 3.0.2 and working fine.

The free version of 3.0.4 and 3.0.3 caused the same problem in the editor for me. Hence rolling back to 3.0.2

same thing here. script not responding.
    yoast-seo-302.min.js?ver=

I rolled back to 2.35 as 3.0 is just bloated and bad.

Lets hope guys at Yoast will update the plugin soon.

    Same issue.
    3.x is close to unusable.

Using 2.35 until a fix or suitable alternative comes up.

Text editor is also slow for me.
    Roll back to 2.X
I keep record of all plugin updates on my local PC in case such bad updates appear, I could easily roll back.
