Very slow when activated

  • Hi.
    Thanks for this plugin. I’v installed it a month before and it was just working fine, but recently I’v noticed that my website becomes very slow. I have other website on the same server, but only the website where I’v installed “Classic Smilies” was down, so I’v tried to deactivate plugins to test, until I switched “Classic Smilies” plugin off, and now the website is normal.
    I preferred to write a post instead of make a review, maybe it needs a small fix ??

    No fix is needed, this plugin cannot slow your website down, unless you have a truly ridiculous amount of smilies on the page.

    Thanks for your fast reply.
    I’m not using smilies, I’v installed your plugin just to disable the new emoji added to wordpress as I don’t use them. I’m sure your plugin was slowing my website (back end and front end as well).

    I’m sorry, but you are mistaken. This plugin cannot “slow down” a website. It literally just turns off the emoji detection code and replaces the smilies with the old ones from previous versions of WordPress. There’s nothing in the code that can cause any form of “slow down”.

    I’v described the situation I was facing in my post. If you are in my place, and tried to deactivate plugins until you deactivate yours, then the website becomes normal, how can you explain this? Perhaps there is a conflict somewhere, but I’m pretty sure it’s in relation with this plugin.
    You can wait before trying to find and explanation, until other people face the same issue, or maybe it’s a special case happened just to me.
