VERY temporary Critical Error and/or 500 Error

  • So this site is not currently experiencing this, but I have seen at least a dozen in the last week or so on both my sites and WP sites I did not build.

    There is either a critical error message and upon refresh it is all good. Or there is a Error 500 that is fixed with a simple (not even hard) refresh.

    Seems to be with multiple versions of WP (at least for my sites) 6.1 and 6.2. I cannot speak to some of the other people’s sites I have visited, but I suspect those are not even 6.x in some cases.

    Hi there,

    I suggest looking at the error logs if you know where those reside, if not, you can reach out to your hosting company and ask them where they can be found. That will at least give you some idea of what could be happening and maybe crashing.

    So I should have clarified, the memory was being exhausted with roughly 340Kb despite the hosting allowing much much more… set WP_MEMORY_LIMIT to even 32MB and never happens again. Never has been such an issue in 15 years
