Video Autoplay won’t work

    Hi,

    I’ve added a videopress hosted video via a shortcode to my homepage (using Avada theme, so the video block isn’t possible) and it won’t autoplay on load. I’ve made sure it’s muted and it still won’t work.

    I’ve also troubleshooted by using an alternative shortcode of [video src] and it works with videos hosted elsewhere, but my my videopress videos.

    I’ve seen you’ve mentioned having issues with the autoplay using VideoPress. I’d suggest inserting your videos using this shortcode:

    wpvideo OcobLTqC w=640 h=400 autoplay=true html5only=true]

    You can change the OcobLTqC ID by your video ID instead, which you can find on the first bits of the link. Example link below:

    https://videos.files.wordpress.com/pVgUtnnX/file_example_mp4_640_3mg.mp4

    If you are using Firefox, you can also make sure that Autoplay is enabled depending on your browser:

    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-autoplay
