    Hi!

When I choose a video format post, I don’t get a block to put the YouTube link in (I use Codesupply, Authentic theme). It works when I turn off the Gutenberg plugin. When can I expect a fix?

    Best regards,

    Csaba

Hi @fru5t – it sounds like this could be with the way your third-party theme handles post formats an videos. I’d recommend reaching out to them directly for support.

    Hi @jordesign

According to Codesupply support, the problem is caused by an addon. After disabling Gutenberg, the feature worked.

Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Hey @fru5t ! Do you mean the problem goes away after deactivating the ‘Gutenberg’ plugin only, or after entirely disabling the block editor itself?

    Hey @properlypurple !

Works after disabling the Gutenberg extension.

Works after disabling the Gutenberg extension.

Thanks for confirming. The plugin is expected to be not fully stable, and it’s advised to use the version of the block editor included in your WordPress site by default.

Is there a particular reason you have the Gutenberg plugin?

It’s very convenient for me to use Gutenberg, I didn’t have this problem with previous versions. Hopefully it will be fixed soon, because I would like to continue using it.

I used the video format before because due to the installed theme the preview cover images on the main page were moving (the YouTube video went where the cover was) but only and exclusively in the video format. I used this format specifically for this reason before.

@fru5t Can you share a screenshot of how the editor UI looks when this feature is working as intended? Perhaps there’s an alternative we can find together.

    It’s getting weirder.

If I save the article as a template post in video format and then go back to continue editing, the block appears.

    I don’t understand…

Hi @fru5t, have you tried selecting the video post format and manually adding the block? Did that work?

If you could?share a screenshot?of the result you’re aiming for and what you’re currently seeing, it will help us find a solution together.
