    Hi Jetpack,

Would like to know if your Video hosting under “Security Daily” is applicable for Online Course Market Place, which individual instructors can upload videos directly on the front end course builder of my site?

Is it built for such business model or not?

    Hi @ecomify,

Any user on your site with proper permissions and a connection to WordPress.com via the Jetpack plugin can add video to your site. However, there are specific ways videos need to be added, in order for them to be on our servers instead of yours:

    1. From https://wordpress.com/media/ via Add New, or;
    2. In your site’s WP Admin, from Media → Library and drag the video file from your computer directly to the Media Library.

This guide explains all of the specifics of our video hosting in more detail:

    Hi Jen,

Thank you for your quick response here! really appreciate it, and yes I’m familiar with the video hosting but I’m worried if the site will be populated with the videos in time.

How does your video hosting works? like I’ll be using Tutor LMS and there is options to upload or embed a video, just few questions here

    1. For example I have a course then I use my front end course builder, (using Tutor LMS) and the option in the jetpack “enable high speed video player” option under the settings of jetpack. will that be automatically uploaded once they upload a video using wordpress media library?

    2. Also if video was uploaded, how will be the playback type affects to the wordpress site? will that be embedded video by default or self-hosted video player that uses high-utilizaiton in my host?

    3. Also please confirm if this is Built for Online Course Market Place, which there are many videos will be uploaded, I know there is 2TB limit, will that be increased without any additional costs?

    Thanks

    Hello,

Thanks for your great follow-up questions!

    To answer your questions:

    1. By default, Jetpack only supports uploading videos in two places as my colleague Jen mentioned above. In case, you integrate a front-end editor/builder, we’re not entirely sure if this editor can work with Jetpack Video Hosting. You will need to implement customizations on your own.

    2. This is up to you. You can use Jetpack Video player like the first video here https://jetpack.com/support/video-hosting/. Otherwise, after successfully uploading a video to our servers, we will provide a direct video link like this https://videos.files.wordpress.com/knHSQ2fb/pexel-stock-video_hd.mp4, which you can use on any video player.

    3. 2TB is soft-limit. We can remove this limit when you reach out to us. However, your videos should be in compliance with our Terms of Service https://wordpress.com/tos/

https://videos.files.wordpress.com/knHSQ2fb/pexel-stock-video_hd.mp4 Hi in this link I can see in the video player there is one option to download video. So can I hide that download option? Because I my website is related to online courses website i don’t want anyone to download my paid videos.
