    Hello,
I was testing some video in background and discovered that, even if on mobile the video is hidden and just the customized preview image is showed, I can hear the video’s audio (that is not hearable on desktop). Is this a bug/limitation of the framework?
I could fix this issue by using a muted video but, just in case, I want to let you know.
    ??

I can’t replicate that. Are you sure you are using video as a background and not just as a video widget? Do you have a URL where we can see this happening?

    Hi Cavalierlife,
sorry to don’t mention that I’m using the “widget” (actually I just saw that that “drag & drop” tools is called widget).
I’ve used a “inner section” with a video in background placed in “style” with “link video” form.

Right now the website is in coming soon mode so is not visible.

If you’ve used a video as a background of the inner section via the Style tab of the section, then you are using a video as a section background, and NOT the video widget. If you dragged the video widget to the section, that’s the widget, If instead, you placed the video URL into the section’s Style tab, that’s a background video, not a widget. It makes a difference in how they work.

In any case, I can’t replicate that issue, and without being able to test your URL, I don’t know how else to help.

Oh, ok then, I was confused.
Now is clear, so then I did the second thing you said.
I placed the video url in the style tab, so is a video background.
This “bug” happened to me on chrome for android, on a small screen phone.
If I try it on the ipad I can see the video instead of the preview image and the problem don’t occur.

I’m going to create a simple page test on another domain so you can see it.
    ??
    Sorry for my misunderstanding.

    Here: https://wp.magen1.com/AW/
I can hear the audio on mobile phone even if I see just the preview “thumbnail” image other than the background video.

I do not hear the audio on my android mobile phone, using Chrome. Try clearing your phone’s browser cache.

    Stupid me xD
I did cleared all the browser data and the problem persist.
then I’ve checked for updates and installed chrome 75.x.xxxx.xxx, the problem is gone.
So the issue was on chrome 74.x.xxxx.xxx
    Problem solved xD
    Thanks

Happy you figured it out! Thanks for letting us know what it was.

I’m also experiencing the same problem, weirdly on isolated pages which are duplicated templates. I’m hearing the audio on my Google Pixel 2 running Chrome 76. This page in particular seems to be the worst offender: https://bubble-footie.mmandb-staging.co.uk/bubble-football/. If I remove the fallback image then the problem with the audio playing is resolved but

Having the background video is a big deal to the client, looking forward to Elementor supporting the display of the videos on mobile devices – looks like there are custom workarounds.

I’m pretty sure that a fix for this is in the works and I think it will show up in the next update.
