    Hello dear support team,
I am having problems with the indexing of YouTube videos when Complianz is active.

The Google Search Console either shows me “Video out of viewport” or that no video was found at all, although it is always at the top of my blog.

But of course the video is only displayed if the cookies have been accepted. If you have not accepted the cookies, you will only see the placeholder image.

As soon as I deactivate Complianz and have it checked by the Search Console, everything works without any problems and all errors disappear.

Is this a known problem? How can I set Complianz so that videos are properly indexed?

    Thanks, Max

    Hi @maxidavis,

If Complianz is configured to block the YouTube embeds, this means that YouTube videos are no longer immediately loaded. The content is blocked and a placeholder is added before obtaining consent. This likely also means the actual video content is not available to be indexed.

If this is undesirable, you could decide to disable the YouTube integration under Complianz -> Integrations -> Services. But of course, this would also mean that the videos are no longer blocked before obtaining user consent.

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos,

Hmm, okay. So I have to decide whether I want to risk the videos being displayed without permission or accept that videos are not recognized at all and I can’t rank for them…
    Is there no workaround?
What other settings do I need to pay attention to if I want to display videos without approval? Or is Complianz -> Integrations -> Services the only thing I need to set up?

    Hi @maxidavis,

Yes, you should only have to disable the YouTube integration under Complianz -> Integrations -> Services to allow YouTube content to load without obtaining consent.

It’s a bit of a trade-off indeed. Personally I would say that it is advisable to keep the YouTube content blocked before obtaining consent, if this is required in the regions that you target with your website.

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Okay, I see.

The strange thing is that the problem has only appeared in the last few weeks and on almost all sites. On some pages, however, the indexing of videos continues to work without any problems.

    Hello

we noticed the same Issue with complianz. The support answer above:

Yes, you should only have to disable the YouTube integration under Complianz -> Integrations -> Services to allow YouTube content to load without obtaining consent.

is not really helping a lot and shut also work with consent on. We used before another consent tool with youtube video placeholder and consent and it worked without any search console issues. There should be someone from development investigate this issue.

If some informations needed we would help to find a solution for this. Think a lot of other users have the same problem but do not check search console for that.

    Best Regards Marc

P.S.: we are using premium version and the issue is the same.
