• I have an animated GIF I use on my front page (Road Fighter Theme at https://www.churchofzero.com ) Just a simple animated zoom through space, but it is over 7MB, and I would like to lighten the load (and not pay for a premium plug just to display one video.)

The original MP4 is only 2+MB ad looks cleaner, but I cannot figure how to get it to my front page. I first just added it in via “Background Image” – no luck. I then tried three Plugins -Simple Background Video, Video Background and VideoJS. None of them appeared to offer a way to place the video on the home screen (or I can’t figure out how. I tried adding a script to the Custom area, but it did not work.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

  • why dont you convert your video to a gif and optimize it with some sort of online tool (I mean data compression) and upload it to the exact direction of the background image (replace with BG gif actually)?

That’s what it is now – and 3 times the size, even after being optimized (12M otherwise) The GIF is 7M, the video only 2M . The problem is the “Front Page” issue – I can’t find a page to edit and the Custom CSS does not affect it, so none of the video BG plug-ins work.
