    Hello,

As of today, is it possible, on Video Player Widget, to put a video with auto play on IOs?

    Thanks

    Hi playdiune,

Yes. The video will autoplay automatically and will require no adjustments. Please note that it won’t be able to play with sound by default as Safari requires videos to be muted for the video to be autoplayed.

If you’ve added a video that’s not autoplaying for you, can you please link me to the page you’re working on?

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi playdiune,

I’ve had a look at the linked page on an iOS device and the video is autoplaying for me. Can you please clarify what device and iOS version you’re using?

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hello,

I am testing with Iphone 8 with iOS 14.4.2 in which I need to press play to start the video.

    Thanks

    Hi playdiune,

Thanks for clarifying. I’ve identified a potential situation that can result in videos not autoplaying on mobile. I’ve applied a patch to the current version of Widgets Bundle for you to verify it allows for the video to autoplay for you. Please do a backup, and then click here to download the patched version.

Once downloaded, open your website and navigate to Plugins > Installed Plugins and deactivate and then delete SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. Scroll to the top of the page and click Add New, Upload Plugin. Upload so-widgets-bundle.1.17.11.1.zip and when prompted activate SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.

Please clear any page cache and minify plugins you’re using and then clear your browser cache. How does that look?

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi,
When removing the plugin, will I lose some of the work done? I say this because by deactivating the plugin all the website content disappears …

    Hi playdiune,

No, you won’t lose any content by temporarily uninstalling and installing the provided patched version. In the unlikely event you do lose content, you can simply restore the backup you made and it’ll be as if you never installed the patched version.

For the duration that SIteorigin Widgets Bundle is briefly uninstalled, your website won’t look 100% as expected. Upon installing the patched version it’ll return to normal.

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi playdiune,

Great to hear that helped! ??
This fix will be available in the next SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle update.

    Hi playdiune,

You can set the video to loop by opening the SiteOrigin Video Player widget and open the Video Playback settings group. Tick Loop and then save.

    Kind regards,
    Alex
