video post format Sydney theme

  • Hi All,

    I have all of the post type options in the post editor, but I tried all of them and nothing changes in the appearance of the posts on the blog page. I cannot create video post, the layouts stay the same with every options.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi,

    We’ve added support for those post formats when we first developed the theme but WP core never implemented a standard way to handle the output.
    So basically all that option does is add classes for your posts to style them on your own if you need. It won’t do anything else by itself and it doesn’t look like it will anytime soon.

    Thank you for the reply.
    I have created content-video.php and custom css for the video posts to make its layout unique on the blog page.

    How can I customize the post layouts on blog page (short content, I mean thumb image, content color, etc.) and have another layout when you read the full article? Because editing the layout related to content-video.php means changing the article’s blog page layout AND the full article layout. How can I manage it separately?
