    Hello everyone ..
    I’m thinking to build a video sharing site ..

    I asked a question in a webmaster forum, and was about to use common scripts such as clip-bucket .. but I was told to try wordpress to do that ..

    So, do you know any plugin to make WordPress work like Youtube ?
    Do you have examples (links) of similar sites running with wordpress ?

    is there any plugin that works in a shared hosting ?
    the site is small and local so I don’t need dedicated server ..

    Even for a small video site you need a LOT of Bandwidth and a high Traffic package!

    Yes I know, I can handle a lot of bandwidth but I can’t provide dedicated server ..

    This plugin looks nice .. but do you think it will help building a video sharing site ? it just displaying a sidebar for recent videos .. maybe I didn’t understand well ..

    any clarifications ? maybe I need to customize the layout or so ?

    I never used it but I’m sure it can do a lot more than just displaying a sidebar. You need to read up on it’s documentation and configure the plugin on it’s page (most probably under Settings in your dashboard). I do know that this is the most feature rich plguin for videos that is currently offered for wordpress. So if this can’t do it you’ll need to look elsewhere.

    I have something else to ask ..

    If ever I want to use this plugin for a French version of wp (a local site) what can I do to make it work ?

    Well, never having used the plguin myself or a foreign version of wordpress I can’t answer that. Many plugins support language packs. This one doesn’t seem to come with any. Mabye you can try contacting the plugin creator and ask them. Good luck.
