Hello, we are not sure whether to use this plug-in or a password protected page in order to share files with our Board members.

When a board member logs in, what do they see as their dashboard – is it the same as what the WordPress site admin sees when they click on the plug-in?

    Thank you for your help!

This is a great question @lalbright. If the user has the “Board Member” role all of the default WordPress dashboard widgets will be removed. The only dashboard widgets they will see are “Board Members”, “Upcoming Board Events” and “Board Committees”.

On the menu on the left, they will be able to access a “Profile” link to change their information, and the “Board Mgmt” menu and all of its subpages.

It’s worth noting that it’s possible for other plugins to add dashboard widgets and menu items, so I can’t guarantee that’s all board members will see on your site.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Since we haven’t heard back from you in a little while I’m going to mark this as resolved. If you have any questions in the future don’t hesitate to reach out.
