My host is host gator…this is what they said, and I quote
” If they are being preloaded in some way, the software you’re using to stream the videos is doing that. For this reason, I recommend to contact the provider of that software for information on how to configure it to run the best. Video streaming is not as simple as setting up a text-based blog, for example.
(4:21 pm) [Laura]: and the software would be WordPress correct?
(4:24 pm) [Laura]: I am using an out of the box version of wordpress that came with my vps
(4:24 pm) [Tim B.] WordPress doesn’t have any built in video streaming feature that I know of. Typically it’s done by a theme or plugin that you add to the site.
(4:24 pm) [Laura]: So it could be a theme issue
(4:27 pm) [Tim B.] It could, if the theme is what’s handling the video streaming.
(4:28 pm) [Laura]: Well thats the ONLY thing i have added that it could be..I am going to switch it back to the stock theme and see what happens
(4:28 pm) [Laura]: https://sociallybanned.com/
(4:28 pm) [Laura]: this is the default theme
(4:28 pm) [Laura]: the videos are still there
(4:29 pm) [Laura]: and still embeded and preloading
(4:29 pm) [Laura]: I just don;t get it
(4:31 pm) [Laura]: I mean, Even if I make it so that Only 1 video/post is on each page its still going to load a 100mb video even if its not clicked on?
(4:33 pm) [Tim B.] It does seem to preload the videos. Unfortunately, I am not a web developer so I won’t be able to help with designing the site to fit a certain specification. I recommend contacting the software’s provider – if you are unsure the forums on www.ads-software.com may have more information. If none of those options work, you may need to contact a web developer.”
I am so confused. I am using the default theme, And the host is telling me to look else where…I am quickly running out of people to ask for what seems like such a simple thing
