Videos do not show on wordpress home page

I use Surfarama for my blog at creative-automata.com

I see only two main problems with it, after having used it for many
posts:

(1) When including a video at the top of a post, rather than an image,
the video is not put in the main blog page. I’d like to have an image show
in the main web page for that post, but then also have the video be
shown at the top of the post. Right now, the main web page shows only
the blog post title. Is there a way to do this?

(2) Sometimes, it takes a while to load the main web page as Surfarama
positions everything on the screen. Is this a known performance problem
when using infinite scroll? I understand that there could be many possible
reasons for this (slow server, etc).
