Videos, featured images don't appear in emails delivered by Jetpack

    For some time now I’ve noticed that if someone email subscribes to our blog using the Jetpack subscription form, they don’t see video embeds or the post’s featured image. The latter I can live without, the former is pretty awful.

    I found this closed issue from a year ago discussing the same problem. Someone suggested using Jetpack’s embed codes. I did that and it didn’t work.

    Any ideas?

    In that particular case, we were using the vimeo shortcode.

    Since that didn’t seem to embed videos in Jetpack emails, we switched settings so email subscribers only see the excerpt and a link to the full post on the site. It’d still be nice to have the featured images come through in those emails, though.

    Thanks for the info! I’m afraid that’s not possible, as you can’t send an image via email without inserting it into the post. I’ve made note of your suggestion though, and it’s possible that we’ll add this functionality in a future release.
