Videos have audio but no image

  • I uploaded a mix of mp4 and mov files to this page and they work on my browser Brave and on Safari my friend said, but on Chrome and Firefox there isn’t any video although the space is there and only the audio plays.

  • I can see the video thumbnails and the videos play OK for me — in both Firefox (version 74) and Chrome (version 80).

    NB: I use Arch Linux, if that makes a difference.

    This is more of a browser issue than WordPress. I recommend updating to the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox Browsers. If that doesn’t work then consider converting the videos to an HTML5 compatible format like Webm or MP4 (As far as I know, MOV is not supported by HTML5 specification)

    So the videos and audio work fine on Chrome now but on Firefox and Safari on my phone, the only one that works is the middle video which is a .mov file while the other two are .mp4. My friend said the videos didn’t work on his Chrome but it worked on his Safari on his desktop and they worked on his Chrome app on his phone.
