Videos not embedding in comments

  • I’m using WP 4.0.1 and Skirmish theme. I can’t embed videos in comments either with the URL or shortcode.

    They work fine in posts but when I try it in a comment, the shortcode and URL show, not the embedded video.

    Any suggestions, please?

  • Hmm. That theme hasn’t been updated in a couple of years, so it might not support videos in comments.

    Have you tried to view your video comment using the 2014 theme?

    I need a theme with sidebars: Twenty Fourten doesn’t have them. I changed to Twenty Twelve but a similar thing happens. I get this:

[youtube url

    With the opening fence but not the end. And a link for the URL but not an embedded video.
