I have had plugin active for over a year with no issues and amazing results, just logged a few minutes ago and updated to 1.7.6 … After update when any videos on site are clicked, the thumbnail flashes but video will not play, when clicked for second time API starts to play video. What I am also finding strange is I used the Impress. org plugin “WP RollBack” to revert to previous version of YT Lyte, cleared site cache and YT Lyte cache but same problem remains.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Thanks, that was the case indeed and changing the option fixed the problem but now on mobile it just loads the normal youtube interface and requests around 2MB of files from there – am I to understand that it works only for desktop users?

Would it be too hard to add an option to add the video source to the iframe only after the whole page has been loaded (perhaps by storing it an attribute other than src (maybe data-src) and transferring it to src after page load)?

Installed Github version, problem solved. Working fine on Google Chrome, Firefox & Mobile.

@shirtguy72 thanks, this will be in the next version, probably out later this month

@wpbot for mobile the choice is indeed between clicking play twice or loading the full YT vid and clicking once (due to the fact that YT does not autoplay on mobile). now the good news is that LYTE still works, in that sense that it’s the LYTE JS (which gets loaded & executed late) that will call the YT player, and this indeed is done very late in the process of rendering the page as shown in the waterfall chart of a webpagetest.org test of @shirtguy72 ‘s site ??
