videos side by side?

  • Hi. This is driving me crazy. I want to have text on the left, then two videos side by side (and then two more then two more).
    I tried it with columns but no matter what I did the text column came out too narrow (I’d like it to be around 50% so the text and videos end at the bottom around the same place).
    Even when I specified 50% 25% 25% for the three columns in the html code it didn’t work. Sometimes it came out with the text column even narrower.
    So I tried changing it to two columns but I couldn’t figure out a way to put the two videos side by side. I tried several methods I found by searching but none of them worked.
    I’ve even put in code to make the videos smaller but it’s not changing anything- they’re still filling up the space.
    For what it’s worth I understand some html but if I can avoid css that would be great since I don’t understand it.

  • Can you send a screen shot? Have you tried deactivating other plugins?

    I don’t know what other plugins I would need to deactivate.

    You can see below the image I have 3 blocks (50%, 25%, 25% width) but I can’t click inside to paste or type.

    If clicking the plus doesn’t do anything then you just need to deactivate one by one, you can do this and then reactivate once you figure out what is breaking your admin.

    I’m confused. I thought that was already a block. If I click on the plus it asks what kind of block I want to add. If I hit paragraph and paste I get a really skinny column with one letter per line.

    Well, that means you can add internal blocks (columns require you add inner blocks) but something is breaking the styling. Please try deactivating plugins.

    I tried deactivating all except:
    Classic editor
    Kadence Blocks – Gutenberg Page Builder Toolkit
    Kadence Toolkit
    Really Simple SSL
    Yoast SEO

    and it’s still the same issue. To be clear, once I have the three blocks across I should be able to click inside the box (but not on the plus) and type or paste?

    Okay, somehow after hours of clicking around the column menu came up and I was able to resize the widths. Don’t know why it wouldn’t show up before.
