Videos Still Play When Hidden

We have this plugin used on a lot of sites. Recently we employed it for popups, using modal style code, and using it in accordion structured content.

When a video is playing and the popup is closed OR the accordion is closed the video continues to play and this is insane.

How can we fix this? is their a patch for the plugin or a new update?
