Videos with expiring Amazon S3 links don't work…

My typical video file name looks something like this:
I think having the “?variable=xyz” right after the .mp4 filename is causing the plugin to crash. Because when I link to a normal video filename without any expiring link variables, everything works fine.
Is there anyway around this, or alternative plugin ??
