    Hello,

This is an awesome plugin and I love it. I am sending out newsletters of posts. In the post content, embedded YT vids appear. They do not appear when sending newsletter of posts.

Could you please tell me how I get vids to appear in the newsletters sent of posts, so that a person could click on the vid to play from email… and beneath the email/newsletter the row of all embedded vids in the newsletter shows to subscribers?

Sorry to ask a question which may be obvious to you. I am just wondering if a vid will embed into my newsletter in email if I enter it into the post using URL? (If above article still accurate or outdated info w/Wordpress updates.)

Additionally, I did enter a vid into a post with embed code. It neither showed in my test newsletter.

At present, neither way is working for me. Do I need to change how I am doing something? Or could it be my email delivery system?

    Thank you!

I found forum article on this topic (listed below). Personally, I would like for the vids to show in newsletters. If I need to change what email client I use, I am willing to do that. I like this newsletter program (have the pro version)… and if I need to pay for email client… I’d consider. I don’t want to change newsletter program… this Tribulant is the best as user friendly and feature packed. So, any solution ideas?

It is working for me to put a link into the newsletter of the YT URL… and the YT tape is thus appearing as attachment under the newsletter. That is good. Yet, I still want the vid to show in the actual excerpt/content portion as well.

I am going to look at email client services (where I don’t have to use their newsletter program – I like this Tribulant Newsletter and don’t want to change) as potential addon solution.

    Thanks.

    @giorgio

Video support in newsletters is an issue because of what email clients support.

The best and most universal way of putting videos in newsletters is by putting an image of the video into the newsletter with a link to a post/page on your site with the video on it. Or even a link directly to the YouTube video.

That way you are certain that all your readers can click and then view the video.

**For anyone who reads this… Using the “Add Media” URL function does not show. Using the “embed” from YT or from tinymce to add media with embed code does not show.

What shows is if you type the URL directly into your post. Then, the livelink of YT URL will show in your newsletter… and the YT vid shows under the newsletter “like an attachment”.

At least in my configuration. (Yet, as stated above, I want the vid itself to show in the newsletter content/excerpt area… so I will explore using an email client where it does work.)

Tribulant Newsletters is the absolute best. ?? I do not want to change newsletter program. It’s so user friendly and feature packed and nothing I tried before settling on it compared. Not EVEN close!! Thanks. ??

    Thank you for your messages.

Here is a useful article on embedding HTML5 video into email newsletters with a fallback for those that don’t support it: https://www.emailonacid.com/blog/article/email-development/a_how_to_guide_to_embedding_html5_video_in_email

Let me know if that helps.

I hope you are doing well, Laura.

We are currently working on a feature in our Newsletter plugin to display videos in email/newsletters.

It will automatically convert any URL of popular video services such as YouTube, Vimeo, etc. to an image which is put in the newsletter that links back to the video on the actual service.

This feature will be available shortly.

I hope you are doing well.

The feature I mentioned that allows you to put videos in emails/newsletters is finished.

We did a blog post on this with more information, see it here: https://tribulant.com/blog/mailing-list-plugin/video-in-email/

The release will be out shortly.
