Vietnamese font in post titles

    I am based in Vietnam and have a self-hosted WordPress site which uses the Vietnamese language. There is no problem with displaying the Vietnamese Unicode font in the body text of my blog posts, but the Vietnamese font does not display correctly in the post titles. I have tried both the VNI and Laban keyboards commonly used by local people, but neither work properly with WordPress.
    Since I now wish to start publishing Vietnamese language articles, not being able to display the title properly with Vietnamese diacritical marks is a major problem.
    Any assistance would be gratefully received.

  • Hi!

    I’m looking at your website (in chrome) and don’t see the difference between the HTML Page Title, Post Title, or the body text. They all appear to match.

    Can you provide more information?

    The final words of the title – “Huy?n S? Church” -are the only ones which use the Vietnamese font, and you will see that the letters “?” and “?” will not reproduce in the same font as the rest of the title – unlike the text, where letters with Vietnamese diacritical marks appear seamlessly alongside the ordinary Roman text

    It’s related to the font type included in the theme. It would be best to open a ticket in the theme’s forum:

    No Problem.

    The forum doesn’t look very active. Hopefully, they will get back to you in time with a better long term solution. If not, you can probably just use some css to change the font family.

    Something like:

    
.site-title, .entry-title, .page-title, .widget-title {
   font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
}
