And if it does count views, does it record it into DB and can that info be used then on homepage and category pages to show the read counts?

    Hello recons,

This is part of the page impressions addon. Its using ajax and is running on cached websites. The data count is stored in the database.

Yes, the info can be used on other pages as well with a little php code which needs to be put in place on homepage and the archive.php or category.php

    Thank you!

Am planning to buy your plugin and give it a try. Where can I get that php code, by the way?

    Two things:

    1. Did not get promised 20% in the admin profile when subscribing (nothing in the email)

    2. I chose to enable top and bottom option, but the downside was that google picks its text up into excerpt showing in search results and makes it quite ugly, instead of taking first paragraph of the text, it has “10. SHARES. ShareTweet. “, for example.

    1. Please read here for how to doing it: https://docs.mashshare.net/article/106-get-page-views-number-in-a-theme-template

    2. You should use a plugin like yoast and specify the meta description of your site. That’s the text which is shown in the snippet of the google results.

    2. I am using yoast plugin. And, snippet is showing fine in yoast, but as soon as I turn on your plugin, google sees your text before yoast snippet and cuts that snippet short.

    3. I tried to most shared widget… Text sticks/glues to thumbnail, text is in bold with no option to make it regular size.

No option to put some kind of thin border around it. Also would be nice to have results based on 3 days as well (you have 7 minimum). can you advice how to change all these?

I would appreciate response to the above.

Also, I had to completely disable the images on the most shared for the following reason:

    – I left the 80px setting there, thinking that it is using a lightweight thumbnail, instead, it turned out, 10 images added 0.5M+ weight to my pages and google pagespeed score dropped from 75-95 range to 50-60 range. My site already generates optimized small 80×60 thumbnails for every image, how do I get it to use that?

    > 2. I am using yoast plugin. And, snippet is showing fine in yoast, but as soon as I turn on your plugin, google sees your text before yoast snippet and cuts that snippet short.

How did you detect this? This is working fine on all our sites.
Google is using the meta description for the snippet if it’s defined with yoast or any other seo tool. If there are no meta descriptions used on your site its possible that google is using part of the share buttons in their snippets when they are activated on top of your posts – yes.

This is a css issue with your theme and needs to be adjusted there as well

    > No option to put some kind of thin border around it.

Someone who knows CSS can handle this easily on your site as well

    Not planned at the moment

    I will check this

    Thank you

    — I detected it by doing google search on the title of the post and viewing it on google search result page.

Regarding 3., yes, that optimization and google score is very important so for now I am using the widget without any images.

Please let me know a page url if your site and a google search term for this page so that i can verify this.

You cannot verify it, because I had to remove the option to show on top of the post and it shows on the bottom only now ??
