Anyone got any ideas about why some posts might have an inflated view count from google analytics when the stats in analytics are quite low?

    Hello Mohamed,

    Sorry for the delay.

I must say that I don’t really know why the plugin would suddenly show this numbers.

In the settings you have “Your token expires on”. Has the token expired?

so its saying Your token expires on: 07/04/2014 15:55:41.
i guess it is. does that mean i have to disconnect and reconnect the plugin from the API

I just disconnected it and then re-added my account and selected the analytics profile.
since i’m on wp-engine i flushed the caches.
the inflated post count is still there though

The plugin only makes a request to the Google Analytics API for your specific URL and ask for the pageviews metrics, so we don’t really do anything that could return a high number.

Can you try to go to Google Analytics and select this metric for the permalink?

not sure what happened, but things are normalized now. I just compared the views and they are correct.
