    Hi,

I would like to be able to view the source code of admin pages while logged in. Instead when I try the source code, it is for the log in page (wp-login.php), not the page I am on.

I can kinda see the page code by using the Firefox inspector, but it has its own nesting problems.

Is there some kind of hack I can do so I can view the code of admin pages?

    Thanks,
    Scott

View source in the Dashboard works for me in both Chrome 41.0.2272.118 and Firefox 37.0.1.

First, please make sure that your browser is up to date by visiting https://whatbrowser.org/

If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

If it is, please do these two things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

    2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

    Hi James,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I can view the source fine in Chrome. And I am using FF 37.0.1 also, but it does not work.

    Wells thanks!

Did you try in Firefox 37.0.1 with all of your browser add-ons temporarily disabled?

    Hi James,

Yes, I did restart FF 37.01 with all add-ons disabled, and I also removed all cookies, but it still causes the same problem.

    IE 11 works fine.
    Chrome 41 works fine.
    Safari 5.1.7 works fine.

I have both a local install running on WAMP and a remote production server and both of them have the same problem. There it it same to assume that it is a FF problem.

Here is source code redirect path if you are interested.
    Source of: https://localhost/wp_development/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A$2F%2Flocalhost%%2Fwp_develoment%2Fwp-admin%2Fplugins.php&reauth=1

Thanks for your help and I am fine using another browser, but I will be happy to help more for the sake of fixing a bug.

    Thanks,
    Scott

Well, I can’t really begin to guess what the problem is. I have viewed source successfully in the admin area of 4 of my sites using Firefox 37.0.1 (I could test more, but there really is no reason to). I didn’t have a single problem.

This leads me to suspect that there’s probably something amiss with your browser configuration. It’s certainly not a WordPress problem.
